There are several comments after the article that refer to Richard Wanke
There are several ways in which the violation of Richard’s 5th Amendment rights harm him: it deprives him of the enjoyment of his freedom during the few days left him prior to his sentencing hearing; he may also never end up being charged with murder if the authorities decide they lack the evidence to charge him (and it looks that way to me), and finally, locking him up prior to his sentencing hearing makes it very difficult for him to properly prepare for his very important sentencing hearing. His sentencing hearing was important before all this began, but proper preparation for it is even more important now after all the media hype accusing him of being a murderer. Instead of being able to arrange preparations for his sentencing hearing personally when so much more is at stake, he now has to rely upon the actions of his attorney, and we all know how busy attorneys are.
