A Springfield man with extensive arrests throughout west-central Illinois — including Scott and Macoupin counties — has been given a 12-year term for a theft case that was just the latest.
Joshua A. Inman pleading guilty to a burglary in Moro in which $9,800 in property was taken. Included in the items taken was a coin collection worth $7,000, authorities said.
Inman appeared before Madison Circuit Judge Richard Tognarelli. Inman is being held in the Robinson Correctional Center, where he already is serving time for seven residential burglaries and one attempted burglary.
He will get one day off his sentence for each “good” day he serves.
The Illinois Department of Corrections website indicates Inman was convicted of burglaries in Christian, Mason, Fayette, Macoupin, Sangamon, Montgomery and Scott counties.
Authorities said Inman, 23, and two accomplices broke into a locked side door of a home Feb. 2 in the 8600 block of Schein Road in Moro.
The suspects in that burglary came to light during the course of an investigation into other burglaries in areas north of Madison County, authorities said.
Spencer A. Schuck, 21, of Springfield pleaded guilty to the burglary on Aug. 19 and was sentenced to six years in prison. Authorities said his sentence was lighter because his criminal history is shorter.
Schuck previously had been convicted of burglaries in Mason, Fayette, Scott and Montgomery counties and an attempted burglary in Fayette County.
Also charged in the Madison County case is Christopher W. Price, 19, of Springfield. His Madison County case is pending.
Price is serving time in the Big Muddy Correctional Center for six burglary convictions, all in areas north of Madison County, including Macoupin County.
