Good news from IDOC!  It is considering videoconferencing for medical consultations, visitation, and even looking at email to streamline prison operations.

(Article from Herald-Review)

“Instead of family members traveling long distances to visit loved ones in prison, Illinois could join more than two dozen other states that allow virtual visits via video conferencing.”

What a great idea. For those that can’t travel far it is wonderful.. I wonder if local libraries could use their facilities if people dont have the equipment. I would think it would help prisoners to have a hope in their future if they can stay connected to loved ones.
